ADDITIONAL COACHING

Session summaries

Training121 is the home for players who are looking for additional football coaching in Ireland

We help players from 5 years of age up to improve their overall football skill set and confidence.

Some key information on our training sessions:

The training sessions are 60 minutes long.

We focus on a topic of the month which is in line with our curriculum.

Our training sessions are between 10 - 12 players depending on the age group.

There are a range of different session options for players across Leinster, Ireland.

We recommend players who are playing amateur schoolboy / schoolgirl football between the age of 5 - 18 attend a small group session offering.

BALL MASTERY WORKSHOP

"Ball mastery is the demonstrated ability to manipulate the ball comfortably using the following surfaces of both feet"

- Sole / Inside / Outside / Instep of the foot

Generally aimed at players between the ages of 8-11 years old who are beginners to organised football. This workshop is designed to build foundational ball skills that allow players to build confidence and technical ability.

We coach in monthly blocks as block training allows for more repetition and re-visiting the same moves consistently in order to build the player's skill level

Available at our Celbridge Football Park, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown and Stillorgan venues.

GIRLS PERFORMANCE GROUP

Similar to our  "Small Group Sessions" , the Girls Performance group is for female players between the ages of 10 - 14 to train together.

The layout of a typical session is:

- Warm Up

- Technical Practise

- Limited Pressure Game

- Full Contact Small Sided Game

Currently, only available at our Celbridge Football Park venue.

SHOOTING WORKSHOP

*AVAILABLE AT TWO AGE CATEGORIES - SMALL SIDED (7/9 A SIDE GOALS) & OLDER GROUP (FULL SIZE GOALS)

This workshop is designed to allow players to get practice in front of goal. This is great because it allows us to dedicate a full session to a particular type of finish that players may not be exposed to enough in team training.

Similar to other workshops, we work in monthly blocks with one type of finish for that month

Currently, only available at our Celbridge Town AFC venue

SPEED& AGILITY WORKSHOP

*AVAILABLE AT TWO AGE CATEGORIES - JUNIOR & SENIOR GROUPS

Our Speed & Agility Workshops are focused on developing physical literacy with the players in the groups. Physical literacy is the mastering of fundamental movement skills and foundational sports skills.

The concept of physical literacy is very pertinent to Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD), as physical literacy encourages continued engagement in physical activity throughout their life (ie Long Term)

Players engage in sessions designed to aid LTAD and also its relationship with football technical development and small sided games.

Currently, only available at our Celbridge Football Park venue

Small GROUP Sessions

On a weekly basis we offer group sessions which are open to all players who fit the age category .

There are two categories of groups
Performance

Development

These groups are divided by age & ability which makes them a great offering for newer players who want to join a session that covers a wider range of topics than a workshop session.

Similar layout to our workshop sessions where the sessions are done in blocks which a particular focus for each block.

Available across all of our venues!

WOMENS NATIONAL LEAGUE GROUP

On a weekly basis we offer group sessions which are specifically for WNL players both at Senior & U17/19 Age Groups.

These groups allow us to offer additional training for players in these age groups who want a positive but challenging environment to help improve themselves as players.

Available at our Celbridge Football Park venue and occasionally in other venues on a seasonal basis.

1ON1 TRAINING

We currently only offer a limited amount of 1on1 training spaces due to our current demand.

Typically we recommend these sessions for Professional / Semi-Professional players or those recovering from a long term injury.

These 1on1 sessions allow us to work on the small 1% of the game for these Elite / Sub-Elite players to help take them to the next level.

TEAM TRAINING

We occasionally work directly with teams who want to add another training night into their schedule - These sessions are generally done in blocks of 4/6/8 weeks with a specific topic for that time.

The team will travel to our venue and be coached by at least 2 of our staff which allows us to split the group up into smaller numbers to give as much contact time as possible to each player.

U6-U9 Introduction

This is for players from 5 years of age to 8 years of age who are getting their first taste of team or club football.

It's our introduction session before the Ball Mastery Workshop.

The standard session design is focused on players having a ball at their feet for as long as possible during the session. This is combined with plenty of small sided games for players to practise the skills they learn.

Available at our National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown and Celbridge Football Park venue.
